“Salman Khan Faces Criticism Over Deleted Post on India-Pakistan Ceasefire”

Tensions at the border escalated following the Indian Armed Forces’ launch of Operation Sindoor, a response to the devastating Pahalgam terror attack. The operation targeted terror camps in the neighbouring country, quickly intensifying the conflict between India and Pakistan. However, reports emerged yesterday that both nations have agreed to a ceasefire. Several celebrities shared their thoughts on social media, including Salman Khan. His post, however, sparked significant backlash, ultimately leading him to delete it.

Salman Khan took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted, “Thank God for the ceasefire.” However, he later deleted the tweet. The Sikandar star faced criticism for speaking up about the ceasefire while remaining silent on Operation Sindoor. One user commented, “I was a fan of #SalmanKhan for 15 years, but today I feel nothing but hatred. Not a single tweet during the war, but as soon as news of the ceasefire came, he tweeted—and when the conflict resumed, he deleted it. He’s a coward. Nothing comes before the nation. Jai Hind.” Many questioned why Salman didn’t acknowledge or appreciate Operation Sindoor. Some even brought up other stars, including Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, questioning their silence as well.

However, die-hard Salman Khan fans also came out in his support. A fan wrote, “What is wrong with people? Why are they abusing Salman Khan over a tweet? He chose peace over war – isn’t that what the citizens want? The Indian government chose to agree to a ceasefire, but I don’t see people criticising the PM for choosing peace. Nothing to do, just sit on X and abuse. Losers.”
