There was a drone attack south of Beirut in the first week of January. Six people including Arouri were killed in this attack. Arouri is considered one of the main planners of the October 7 attacks in Israel. Hamas had blamed Israel for Arouri’s death. Dahiyah, a southern suburb of Beirut, is a Hezbollah stronghold. In such a situation, this drone attack shook Lebanon. Hamas called it a cowardly incident. Apart from this, he said that Israel cannot break them with these attacks.
According to a KAN report, Hamas officials left Lebanon after the attack. He shifted to Syria and Türkiye. Apart from this, senior leader Ghazi Hamad reportedly fled to Qatar. He has not returned to Lebanon since Arouri’s murder.
