Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was admitted to Karachi Hospital. Media reports have raised suspicions that he was poisoned. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet. He was admitted to the hospital for 2 days. He has been kept under tight security.
According to the India Today report, there is no other patient present in the hospital on the floor where Dawood is kept. Only his family members can go there. Mumbai Police is also keeping an eye on this matter. Efforts are being made to gather inputs from Dawood’s relatives in Mumbai.
However, an officer of the Central Investigation Agency has said that the news of Dawood being poisoned may be largely a rumour. Dawood’s security is so strong that any person has to pass through at least 150 people to reach him.
Dawood Ibrahim is India’s most wanted terrorist, NIA released the list of reward money last year. In this, a reward of Rs 25 lakh has been kept on Dawood. The United Nations has also declared Dawood a global terrorist. The United Nations Security Council had placed a reward of $25 million on Dawood Ibrahim in 2003.
Several cases have been registered against him by various national agencies, including a money laundering case and an arms smuggling case. He formed the syndicate D-Company in 1970.
There are also allegations against Dawood Ibrahim for carrying out bomb blasts in Mumbai in 1993. In this, 257 people were killed while 700 people were injured.
He is also accused of murder, extortion, target killing, and drug smuggling. It is said that he is currently living in Karachi, Pakistan, but the Pakistani government denies this. In January, Dawood’s sister Haseena Parker told Pakistani media house The News International that Dawood was in Karachi and had gotten married for the second time.
